Bookkeeping questions
What's the difference between bookkeeping and accounting?
Bookkeeping is the regular recording of your sales, purchases and payments. Accounting uses those records to produce your year end accounts and tax returns. We can do both, so your books flow straight into your accounts.
My records are behind. Can you still help?
Yes. Plenty of businesses come to us with a backlog. We'll talk it through on a free first chat, then agree a fixed fee to bring everything up to date and keep it that way.
How much does bookkeeping cost?
It depends on how many transactions you have and how often you'd like your books updated. We charge a fixed fee or include it in a monthly package, and you'll know the cost before we start.
How long do I need to keep business records?
HMRC generally expects limited companies to keep records for at least six years from the end of the financial year, and sole traders for at least five years after the 31 January Self Assessment deadline. We can tell you what applies to your business.
Do you work with businesses in Manchester?
Yes. We're an independent firm based in Manchester and we'd especially like to hear from local businesses looking for help with their books.
